A reliable service dog is more than obedient—it must be calm, stable, responsive, and capable of working confidently in everyday public environments.

Our Public Access Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to determine whether a dog demonstrates the behavioral standards expected of a working service dog. Throughout the evaluation, we assess your dog's ability to remain composed under distraction, maintain consistent obedience, recover appropriately from environmental stressors, and work safely alongside its handler in real-world settings.

Rather than focusing on tricks or advanced obedience, our evaluation emphasizes the qualities that matter most in public access: neutrality, impulse control, handler engagement, environmental stability, and reliable responsiveness.

While we primarily evaluate dogs that have completed training through Miles Speaks Dog, we also welcome outside teams seeking an independent professional evaluation.

Annual Handler Support

For handlers looking for continued support, we offer an optional annual membership that keeps you connected with our training team long after your evaluation.

This service includes:

• Verification of your dog's training and evaluation history when requested by airlines, housing providers, employers, or other organizations.
• Direct communication with third parties, when appropriate, to confirm that your dog has been professionally trained and evaluated by Miles Speaks Dog.
• Ongoing guidance for maintaining public access standards.
• Referrals, training recommendations, and continued access to our team as your dog's needs evolve.
